The Morgridge International Reading Center at the University of Central Florida was selected as the state of Florida's research center to examine the effects of the Istation Reading program on the reading performance of elementary school students. The study will focus on students enrolled in Florida schools in grades pre-K through 5.
All Florida schools and school districts are invited to take part in the Morgridge International Reading Center at the University of Central Florida – Istation project on a voluntary basis. All Florida public school students in grades pre-K through 5 and state-assessed Florida charter school students are eligible to participate. Total student enrollment in this study is limited to a maximum of 600,000 students. Participating schools will receive access to Istation’s assessment and reading intervention curriculum, including the Istation Home feature, at no charge.
New for the 2016-2017 academic year, the project will also include free and unlimited access to Istation’s Istation Español program. This program can be implemented in different English Learner models, including English Development, Dual Language and Bilingual Education. Paired with Istation Reading, the Spanish assessments help teachers and administrators better understand and compare individual students’ language and literacy skills.
