DALLAS, May 23, 2016 — All pre-K through 8th grade students in public schools receive free, unlimited access to Istation’s comprehensive digital learning program, Istation Reading.

Free Access to Istation Reading Approved for Kansas, Continuing in 2016-2017 School Year

Istation, a leader in educational technology, announces that educators and students in Kansas will continue to have free and unlimited access to Istation Reading for the 2016-2017 academic year. This announcement follows a vote of approval by the Kansas State Department of Education and inclusion in Senate bill 249, which protects the K-12 education budget from cuts. This means all pre-K through 8th grade students at public schools in Kansas are eligible for free and unlimited access to Istation Reading and Istation Home throughout the academic year.

“We value the relationships we have built with Kansas educators over the last academic year,” said Richard Collins, Istation Chairman and CEO. “We are honored to continue this partnership, and we look forward to supporting educators and students across the state. Together, we can improve student literacy and empower student learning.”

Istation has contracted with the Fort Hays State University College of Education in Hays to provide a variety of research and data analysis, including an examination of the effects of the Istation Reading program on participating students.

Istation is an adaptive, computer-delivered program that is both interactive and fun. The comprehensive library of support materials makes every minute of teaching and learning more effective. Easy-to-use components also work together to provide every student with the individualized instruction he or she needs for continual achievement. With Istation Home, students can continue their learning and instruction outside the classroom.

Educators and parents can access online reports that track student progress and provide links to supplemental lessons. Istation’s research-based program supports intervention, development and enrichment, making it appropriate for all learners.

The Istation Reading curriculum is correlated to the Kansas College and Career Ready Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy for kindergarten through 8th grade.

Istation Reading has been reviewed and endorsed by the Council of Administrators of Special Education, the National Center on Response to Intervention and the Florida Center for Reading Research.

More than a dozen studies and reviews conducted over the last decade prove Istation’s learning programs deliver results. Research also shows that students who consistently use Istation experience greater growth in their reading ability than students who don’t.
